The Brave Ant

One day the rabbit couple while walking down the river side saw one wounded ant lay unconsciously on the grass. The rabbit couple felt pity for the ant. The lady rabbit gently picked the ant on her hand and put on the leaf of a nearby plant. The warmth of the sun acted as medicine for the ant. She soon recovered and saw the rabbit couple sitting beside her.

The ant recalled that she accidentally came under the feet of a cat and fainted. She enquired how she reached on the leaf top. The rabbit couple told everything. The ant thanked them and said she will definitely help them when they need it most.

The rabbit couple left the place and went towards river to have water and bask under the bright sun. They used to visit the place always and spent hours playing and relaxing under the sun.

One fine day, the couples were again on their way towards the sea. The ant was swinging on the leaf of a tree. She saw the couples walking hand in hand, dancing and singing walking down towards the river. She greeted them from the tree top and the rabbit coupled smiled and waved their hands at her greetings.

The rabbit coupled walked towards river. A few hour later she could see the rabbit couple sleeping peacefully on the soft grass near the river side. But suddenly she started trembling to see the King lion moving toward the grass where the rabbit couple is sleeping. The king could see the rabbits sleeping, hence was walking quietly to devour them by surprise.

The ant realizing the life threat on rabbits, jumped from the leaf upon the Lion's shoulder. He wanted to alert the rabbits and hence with all his might, bite on the lion's back. The lions felt like someone has inserted needle on his back and roared loudly out of pain.

The rabbit couple got alerted with this and ran at once anticipating the danger. The white pigeon who was watching this event cheered at the victory of ant. The ant jumped out of Lion's back and hide itself in grass. When lion went away the pigeon came and patted the ant's soldier. He took the ant on his shoulder and flew towards the rabbits' hole.

The pigeon narrated the whole story to the rabbits. The rabbits were moved at the brave initiative of their friend ant. They thanked her and promised to even strengthen their bonds of friendship in future.
